John Mathis has been on the show a number of times and each episode he brings something completely different. This week he tells us about his work with IBM in the advancements of Artificial Intelligence in medical technology, specifically the role of Watson, IBM's trademark AI. We also dip our toes into the usual WWI topics of health and optimal nutrition.

What if it was all a conspiracy? Author Dr. Joseph Uscinski
Friday Jan 19, 2018
Friday Jan 19, 2018
Conspiracy theories often conjure up the image of shadowy characters running the show behind the curtain. Cross the system and the system will take you out. This idea makes for a great John Grisham novel but rarely represents reality. My guest tonight is an expert of conspiracy theories and how they become a part of our culture. Do conspiracy theories expose nefarious plots to undermine the system or simply a way to address political shortcomings and help quell the feeling of ineptitude?
Joseph E. Uscinski received his bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State University, his Master’s from University of New Hampshire, and his Doctorate from University of Arizona. His research has appeared in Journal of Politics, Political Research Quarterly, and Critical Review among other scholarly outlets. His first book, The People’s News: Media, Politics, and the Demands of Capitalism (New York University Press, 2014) addresses how audience demands drive news content. His second book, American Conspiracy Theories (Oxford University Press, 2014) coauthored with Joseph Parent, examines why people believe in conspiracy theories.

Jason Seib is the creator of the AltShift Diet, the author of The Paleo Coach and Body Beliefs and the co-host of the AltShift Podcast. He is also the founder and co-owner of AltShift Fitness and Fat Loss located in the Portland, Oregon area.
"Jason speaks on the subject of fat loss regularly, delivering his Sustainable Fat Loss Seminar around the US. Jason’s passion is guiding normal people to extraordinary levels of health and fitness. Marrying his extensive knowledge of fitness and nutrition with his love of psychology, he has built his career by helping thousands of people change their perspective and find a healthy, sustainable path to their goals."
Jason was a great guest and taught me a lot about the psychology of why fitness programs fail and the challenge to self-esteem women face every day. It was an honor to have him on the show and I hope to have him back on in the future.
Episode 81 marks the newest season of the WWI Podcast and I have some great interviews lined up. Episodes in the new year will include the return of Riley Anderson to discuss his recent work with ayahuasca; John Mathis who is working with IBMs AI Watson; Dr. Ken Berry who dared question conventional medicine; Joseph Uscinski who will explain the psychology of conspiracy theories. We also have another planned ghost hunt and philosopher Paul Adams will be in studio to discuss the origins of human morals.

What if we had a few drinks LIVE? Christmas Cocktails from Revival 1869
Friday Dec 15, 2017
Friday Dec 15, 2017
Well, we had so much fun with the Live Ghost Hunt from Revival 1869 on Halloween that I figured why not return to this fine establishment to celebrate Christmas the best way - making merry with friends and spirits! On this episode, Mike and Maleah introduced us to their professional bartenders and we are schooled about the intricacies of craft cocktail mixing.
This was a live Facebook event (see video) and handling the sound, video, and interviews as a one-man show was a challenge. The audio is a bit off compared to my typical episodes (I had 5 different audio sources I had to pull from).
We will return with a new line up of very interesting guests starting in the new year. I will be focusing on integrating the website www.waitwhatif.com to the show with product reviews (nootropics, books, unorthodox fitness gear etc..) links, blog posts and more.
Thank you for checking out the show. As always shoot me an email at waitwhatifpodcast@yahoo.com with questions, comments, critiques or if you want to be on the show.
Merry Christmas! -ks

Hans Fex is a successful entrepreneur and the creator of the fascinating Mini-Museum (www.minimuseum.com). What is a mini-museum? In a nutshell, it is a collection of rare and interesting artifacts, sliced and diced into tiny specimens and sealed in a small epoxy display case. If you're a history buff or fascinated by artifacts, this item is right up your alley. I own one myself and love to watch my friends and family gaze at the collection of specimens which included a small piece of Appollo 11, coal from the Titanic and soil from Dracula's Castle!
Hans was featured on episode #44 last year to tell the background story of the Mini-Museum. During that interview, I realized how great a storyteller he is and invited him back to recount a particular adventure about scaling the mountain where Dracula's castle is located. Without giving too much away, it involved jetlag, delirium, wolves, bears, torrential rains and narrowly escaping a fall to his death! Hans tells a hell of a tale and is a great friend of the WWI Podcast. I hope he accepts an open invite to share more of his stories from around the world.

On October 16, 2017, I invited paranormal investigator John Mathis and renowned psychic Vincent Genna to explore the possible sources of unexplained events taking place at Revival 1869, a craft cocktail bar located at the center of Clayton, NC. As a self-proclaimed skeptic-at-heart, I wanted a chance to see these events through the eyes of true believers and approach the investigation with an open mind about the possibility that some things exist beyond our five senses. The Wait What If Podcast is about bringing people together to discuss the mysteries of existence, the complexities of society and to learn about the world through a diverse set of beliefs. This evening was the epitome of that mission. Mr. Vincent and Mr. Mathis did a fantastic job in opening my mind to the possibility that there is much more to our world than we can see.
